Eastham in construction
We began the construction of another project on the Manchester Ship Canal
Another project on the Manchester Ship Canal is being built – the Eastham SHPP will deliver clean electricity for the surroundings. The Canal is a 36-mile-long (58 km) inland waterway in the North West of England linking Manchester to the Irish Sea.
It is just one part of a bigger plan to take advantage of hydropower on the Canal, which has significant potential for this kind of renewable energy. With a head of 4.5 metres and a capacity of 15 m3/s, the site will have an output of 594 kW.
